TrendWatching is embarking on an exciting multi-year journey to assist future-focused business professionals in every possible way to identify and run with meaningful business opportunities. 

We are now looking for a purpose-driven, ambitious Business Developer, based in Amsterdam, to join our international team and community on a freelance basis. 

Working closely with our Founder and our Heads of BD, CS and Marketing, you will be responsible for turning client enquiries into new business, across our three main services (Trend Intelligence Platform, Bespoke and Academy). You will also foster key client relationships, and think with us on fine-tuning our global BD strategy. We want to quickly grow the business now that we have a number of exciting new services, and you will be one of the key drivers behind that growth. 

It's a role that requires a love for trends and purpose-driven businesses: Ideal candidates should be passionate about finding innovative solutions to clients' challenges. Experience in the field of new business is a must, and so is an entrepreneurial streak and a cosmopolitan mindset, as our clients are based all over the world.

Your responsibilities:

  • Handle all incoming enquiries from prospective clients.
  • Work closely with our Trend Analysts to deliver custom client proposals that are fully 'on trend'. 
  • Engage with existing key clients to expand accounts.
  • Work closely with our CS, Marketing and Content teams on marketing materials that will help grow our sales pipeline.

Your profile:

  • You care deeply about sustainability, equity, well-being and organisational impact.
  • You perform best in a multicultural & cosmopolitan, freelance-minded environment.
  • You have excellent communication, consulting and business development skills, as well as a beyond-solid command of the English language, both spoken and written.
  • You have solid time and project management skills (custom work requires close planning with our Trend Analysts).
  • You have a minimum of two years of experience in new business and managing B2B client relationships.
